National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits are required to prevent the transport of sediment-laden stormwater and other visible and non-visible construction related pollutants into local surface waters, including municipal storm drains. AES-Montrose’s Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Stormwater Inspectors (CESSWI) and California Certified Professional Engineers (PE) meet current state requirements for the development and implementation of SWPPPs for projects covered under the Construction General Permit. AES-Montrose is accredited by the California Air Resource Board (CARB) as a verification body for the purpose of verifying greenhouse gas emissions reports in accordance with the CARB Mandatory Reporting Program as required under Title 17 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR) and the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32). The AES-Montrose verification body consists of two CARB certified lead verifiers and a staff of over 30 environmental specialists to assist clients with meeting the verification requirements. AES-Montrose lead verifiers are also accredited to serve the refinery and electricity transaction sectors. On January 1, 2012, CARB approved revisions to Title 17 of the CCR. The revisions align CARBs Mandatory Reporting Program’s requirements with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s GHG Reporting Program.
